The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) recently announced the results of the Registered Electrical Engineers Licensure Examination held in various cities across the Philippines last April 2024. Out of the 7,005 hopefuls who took the exam, a total of 4,436 individuals successfully passed, marking a significant milestone in their professional journey.
Conducted by the Board of Electrical Engineering, the examination spanned several key locations including N.C.R., Baguio, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao, Zamboanga, and Puerto Princesa, Palawan. This widespread distribution of examination centers ensured accessibility for aspiring engineers from various regions of the country.
Engr. Francis V. Mapile, the Chairman of the Board of Electrical Engineering, alongside Engr. Jaime V. Mendoza, a board member, led the rigorous assessment process, ensuring the integrity and fairness of the examination.
The licensure examination represents a significant milestone for aspiring electrical engineers, marking their transition from academic training to professional practice. It evaluates the examinees' competence in various theoretical and practical aspects of electrical engineering, covering a wide range of topics including electrical systems, power generation, transmission, and distribution, as well as safety standards and regulations.
The successful candidates now face the next crucial step in their professional journey – the registration process. Starting from June 17, 2024, the registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will be conducted online through the PRC website (www.prc.gov.ph). This transition to online registration streamlines the process, offering convenience and efficiency to the newly licensed engineers.
To complete their registration, successful examinees are required to follow specific instructions and provide necessary documentation. This includes downloading and duly accomplishing the Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal, presenting the notice of admission for identification purposes, submitting two passport-sized photos with a white background and complete name tag, providing two sets of documentary stamps, and bringing one short brown envelope. Moreover, successful candidates must personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals, reaffirming their commitment to upholding the standards of the electrical engineering profession.
The licensure examination and subsequent registration process represent not only a personal achievement for the successful candidates but also a significant contribution to the electrical engineering industry in the Philippines. As these newly licensed professionals enter the workforce, they bring with them a wealth of knowledge, skills, and dedication, poised to make meaningful contributions to various sectors including power generation, infrastructure development, telecommunications, and renewable energy.
The PRC's commitment to ensuring the integrity and competence of licensed professionals underscores the importance of continuous professional development and adherence to ethical standards in the practice of engineering. Through rigorous examination processes and streamlined registration procedures, the PRC aims to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and excellence in the Philippine engineering industry.
In conclusion, the recent announcement of the results of the Registered Electrical Engineers Licensure Examination heralds a new chapter in the careers of 4,436 individuals who have successfully proven their competence and dedication to the field of electrical engineering. As they embark on their professional journey, they carry with them the responsibility to uphold the principles of integrity, competence, and service, contributing to the advancement and sustainability of the engineering profession in the Philippines.
