The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) has officially released the results of the May 2024 Philippine Nurses Licensure Examination. Out of 11,116 examinees, a remarkable 7,749 candidates successfully passed, marking a significant achievement for aspiring nurses across the country.
The examination was conducted by the Board of Nursing in numerous locations, including the National Capital Region (NCR), Baguio, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Koronadal, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao, Zamboanga, and Puerto Princesa, Palawan. The Board of Nursing, composed of Hon. Elsie A. Tee as Chairman, and members Hon. Carmelita C. Divinagracia, Hon. Elizabeth C. Lagrito, Hon. Zenaida C. Gagno, Hon. Marylou B. Ong, Hon. Merle L. Salvani, and Hon. Leah Primitiva S. Paquiz, who is currently on leave, oversaw the examination process.
The PRC also highlighted the top-performing schools in the May 2024 examination based on the Commission Resolution No. 1814 series of 2024. These institutions have shown exemplary performance, with high passing rates among their examinees.
Among the schools with 51 or more examinees and at least an 85% passing rate, Cavite State University (Don Severino Agri. Coll.), Southern Luzon State University - Lucban (SLPC), and the University of Mindanao - Davao City stood out by achieving a 100% passing rate. All 179 examinees from Cavite State University, 69 from Southern Luzon State University, and 63 from the University of Mindanao passed the examination.
Gordon College, formerly known as Olongapo City College, also performed exceptionally well, with 98 out of 99 examinees passing, resulting in a passing rate of 98.99%. The University of Pangasinan followed closely, with 169 out of 172 examinees passing, achieving a passing rate of 98.26%.
For schools with 30 to 50 examinees and at least an 85% passing rate, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila led with a 100% passing rate, where all 31 examinees successfully passed. Central Philippine Adventist College had a passing rate of 97.67%, with 42 out of 43 examinees making it through. Far Eastern University - Manila also demonstrated strong performance, with 45 out of 49 examinees passing, resulting in a 91.84% passing rate.
The PRC also announced the top ten examinees who garnered the highest scores in the May 2024 examination. Abigail Escueta Cayanan from St. Jude College - Dasmariñas, Cavite, Inc. topped the list with a score of 92.60. Jim Jerico Cedric Garo Uy from Saint Paul University - Tuguegarao secured the second place with a score of 91.80. Tied for third place were Mary Vhinne Anne Verzo Colandog from Southern Luzon State University - Lucban (SLPC) and Zynarik Alzola Tabelisma from Adventist University of the Philippines, both scoring 91.60.
